Addressing the community, the college president stated, “I wish to note that his demise was unrelated to last night’s active shooter alert and campus lockdown and that the circumstances are not suspicious. I implore all Bucknellians to rally around each other during this challenging period and to keep Christian’s family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Bravman further declared the cancellation of classes on Monday, with counselors and campus chaplains made available to students.
Bucknell University refrained from disclosing specifics regarding the location of Samay’s body or the suspected cause of death.

According to his LinkedIn account, Samay was on the brink of graduating with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He had previously interned at M&T Bank in Baltimore, investment firm KBW in Florham Park, New Jersey, and Digital Capital Advisors in New York City.
