Tragic Loss: Avery Davis Dies in Hunting Accident in Orangeburg, SC

Avery Davis Death:

I’m really sorry to hear about this sad incident. Avery Davis, who was just 6 years old, passed away after a hunting accident in South Carolina. The accident happened on Friday morning near the Calhoun County line in Orangeburg County. Sadly, Avery has accidentally shot and didn’t survive.

Right now, officers and investigators from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) are looking into what happened. They’re trying to understand the details of the incident to figure out how it happened. It’s a very difficult time, and our thoughts are with Avery’s family and friends.

Avery’s Father Jeremy Davis:

Jeremy Davis, Avery’s dad, shared, “It’s hard to find the right words to talk about my wonderful son. Avery, with his bright spirit and big heart, loved by everyone who know him. He was like a live wire, known all over for his playful nature and love for the outdoors. In his short six years, he really made the most of every moment.

I’m grappling with the pain, and even though not supposed to question God, it’s tough not to. The only way I can make sense of it is to think that maybe God needed a skilled handler for some good hounds in heaven. Or perhaps, the Good Lord wants the ‘Outdoors with Avery. Show to be hosteing in the best place possible.

Avery is an organ donor, and our hope is that he can help save other children. I’m proud that his legacy will live on through others. My son was an incredible houndsman, fisherman, outdoorsman, and athlete — one of the toughest I’ve ever known. Please continue to keep us in your prayers; we really need it. And remember to hold your little ones close and create precious memories because you never know how much time you have.

Avery Davis, I’ll love you always, and one day, we’ll hunt together again, son.”
